One-time, non-operating needs, that benefit Broome County are preferred. While health and education needs have traditionally been given priority, the Foundation also supports cultural and environmental projects which benefit a broad number of residents within the county.

Organizations applying for grants from the Ahearn Foundation must be fiscally responsible and recognized as tax-exempt under the Internal Revenue Code, generally with a 501(c)(3) designation. Grants to individuals and other organizations will not be considered.
